Richard Urban BSc (Hons) MRICS MIoD (Chairman)

Independent Non-Executive Director, Founder of Rivington Pike

Richard is a Jersey based independent non-executive director who sits on the offshore boards of funds, joint ventures and family offices. Richard has substantial real estate, structured finance, infrastructure, private equity and hedge fund investment and governance experience. He is also an industry award judge, regular conference speaker and has contributed extensively to investment management and pension industry press articles.

Prior to founding Rivington Pike in 2014, Richard was an Investment Manager at Cardano, a City of London-based pension fund manager with over £50 billion of assets under management. Whilst at Cardano, Richard was responsible for designing and implementing the global real estate and real estate asset investment strategy, encompassing a broad range of credit and equity investments held in closed ended vehicles and hedge funds.

He has held a number of advisory board appointments for funds which totalled over £2 billion of AUM.

Prior to Cardano, Richard was employed by CBRE Real Estate Finance and the structured finance department of Moody's Investors Service, where he underwrote over £30 billion of UK and Pan-European loans and real estate.

Richard is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Richard is a Member of the Institute of Directors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is also a RICS professional examinations assessor and a Trustee of Jersey Heritage.

Richard holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Investment and Finance in Property from the University of Reading.

Paul Smith

Chairman of the Executive Committee at the Guernsey Investment Fund Association (GIFA)

Paul Smith has extensive investment fund experience gained over 30 years in the industry and was elected to the GIFA Executive Committee in 2013.

Now serving as an independent non-executive director, Paul was previously a Senior Director of JTC Group in Guernsey and Managing Director of RMB Investment Services Limited, BNP Paribas Fund Services (Guernsey) Limited and HSBC Fund Administration (Guernsey) Limited.

Paul is a Chartered Secretary, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Member of the Institute of Directors, a Member of the Institute of Risk Management and a non-executive Director of various funds and companies.

Paul holds a Masters Degree in Corporate Governance and the Certificate in Company Direction from the IoD.

Shelagh Mason

English Solicitor and Consultant at Collas Crill LLP

Shelagh has over 35 years’ experience in the legal and property industries. She advises on all aspects of UK property and property development, property portfolio and management and corporate and trustee property services. She also advises on commercial property matters and leasehold matters in Guernsey. Prior to moving to Guernsey in 1999, Shelagh was a senior partner at Edge Ellison. Shelagh established Mason & Co in 2001, which merged with Spicer & Partners Guernsey LLP in 2010. She joined Collas Crill as a Consultant in December 2014.

Shelagh is a non-executive director of a number of companies, including being Chairman of the Channel Islands Property Fund Limited, on the board of The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited, a FTSE 250 company, and on the board of Skipton International Limited. Until recently she was on the board of: MedicX Fund Limited, now part of PHP, a main market listed company investing in primary healthcare facilities; Leadenhall Property Company Jersey Limited, which developed the Cheesegrater; and for the 10 years ending in December 2014 she sat on the Board of Standard Life Investment Property Income Trust, a property fund listed on the London Stock Exchange. Shelagh is also a past chairman of the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Guernsey International Legal Association.

Shelagh has also obtained the Institute of Directors Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction with distinction.

Stephen Alexander

Stephen has broad experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, trust issues, contentious investment fund and banking matters, and insolvencies and restructurings. He has worked on some of the largest cases before the Jersey courts in recent years.  He has regularly appeared as an advocate before the English, Cayman Islands and Jersey courts.

Stephen is a member of the Law Societies of England and Wales, the Cayman Islands and Jersey, the IBA, INSOL, the Restructuring and Insolvency Association in the Cayman Islands and the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts (ARIES) in Jersey. Stephen sits on the Legal and Regulatory Committee of ARIES and is Acting Committee Member of the Law Society of Jersey. Stephen is listed on the Citywealth Leaders List, 2018 and on Legal Week's Private Client Global Elite 2018: Ones to Watch list.

Annette advises on a broad range of corporate matters with a particular emphasis on the establishment, regulation and operation of investment funds, regulatory compliance, capital markets and banking and finance.

Her practice covers the formation of all types of alternative investment funds, including private equity funds, listed funds, hedge funds and property funds. She advises many of the largest fund promoters and financial institutions both locally and internationally.

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2001, Annette worked for Clayton Utz in Australia. She became a partner at Carey Olsen in 2016.

Bridget Barker is entrusted to support and enhance ZEDRA’s Corporate and Fund Services and provide further opportunity for new market growth. She is a key participant in ZEDRA’s major networking events, global panel discussions and acts as a significant spokesperson for the company.

Bridget joined ZEDRA from a leading city law firm with almost 36 years’ experience. She is one of only three ‘Senior Statesmen’ for private equity funds listed in the Chambers Legal Directory, 2017. Her experience in legal issues, particularly related to fundraising in the areas of private equity and real estate, is extensive.

Bridget has a wealth of experience having spent many years working in the private funds industry with a special focus on private equity, real estate and credits funds as well as advising investors from across the world. She is renowned as a leading professional in the market and has been consistently ranked in the Who’s Who over the past decade as one of the world’s top private funds lawyers.

Gordon is a Partner in Mourant's Guernsey Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice.

He worked in London chambers for over eight years before moving to Guernsey in 1998, and has been a Partner since 2003.

He have extensive experience before the English Courts and a special interest in Guernsey and English common law.

Gordon has a substantial commercial law, professional negligence and personal injury practice and is a renowned public lawyer in Guernsey, taking cases to the Supreme Court and Privy Council.

Deputy Chief Executive, Strategy at Guernsey Finance & Chair of Guernsey Green Finance

Andy developed the Guernsey Green Finance initiative which he also leads. His role at Guernsey Finance is to oversee jurisdiction wide financial services strategy. He joined Guernsey Finance on August 1st 2018, following a six month secondment from the GFSC where he was a Policy Director. He is a member of States’ advisory groups on international tax policy & Brexit and is a member of the The City UK’s IRSG’s and Corporation of London’s standing committee on regulatory coherence. Andy has a PhD in Macroeconomics and is a member of the Institute of Directors and Institute of Risk. Andy also worked in corporate and financial PR in London in the late 90s and early 00s.

Fiona Le Poidevin

Fiona Le Poidevin is Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company, positions which she has held since January 2015. Her role includes strategy formulation, overseeing the day to day operation of the Company, providing leadership and strategic direction to the team and focusing on opportunities to grow the business, both from existing streams and through the introduction of new products and service offerings.

Fiona is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and holds the Institute of Directors (IoD) Diploma in Company Direction. She is also a member of the IoD Guernsey Committee, the IoD Guernsey Tax and Regulatory Committee and the AIC Channel Islands Committee.

Prior to joining the Company, Fiona was Chief Executive of Guernsey Finance. Previously a senior tax manager with a Big 4 accountancy firm, she has more than 19 years’ experience working in financial services in both London and the Channel Islands.

Apart from his work at CoinShares, Mr. Radloff serves as Vice Chairman of CryptoUK, a consortium of crypto focused companies aiming to promote best practices and to work with government and regulators to ensure that the UK benefits from the exciting potential of this emerging technology.

Prior to CoinShares, Mr. Radloff served as Managing Director at FiREapps and SageWorks, Inc. two FinTech companies focused on Corporate FX, globally; and Financial Statement Analytics for corporations, respectively. He holds a B.A. from Duke University.

Wayne Atkinson

Wayne works with a broad range of regulated entities and investment funds on fundraising, transaction and investment structuring, commercial contracts and mergers and acquisitions. As one of the leaders of Collas Crill's risk and regulatory team he also regularly advises businesses on regulatory compliance including money-laundering issues, listing rules requirements, competition law, data protection and Guernsey financial services regulation more generally.

Wayne has also built considerable expertise in assisting company boards and activist shareholders in relation to contentious general meetings and associated issues arising out of investor actions.

A regular speaker at seminars and conferences in relation to company law, regulatory and fund matters, Wayne is well known for his down-to-earth plain speaking approach to explaining complex legal and regulatory issues.

Sam Shires is a partner based in Walkers Guernsey office, where he is head of the local Corporate and Investment Funds Groups.

Sam advises a wide range of clients on all aspects of corporate law, including investment funds. His investment fund experience includes advising promoters, managers, administrators and custodians in relation to the establishment, operation and regulation of open and closed-ended investment funds. His general corporate law experience includes corporate transaction work and financing transaction work.
