Simon Vardon

Global Head of Real Estate at SANNE

As Global Head of Real Assets, Simon is responsible for developing the product for Sanne's business. This encompasses working with the Country Heads to manage the suite of real assets services being offered, including into new markets and jurisdictions, driven by client needs and market trends.

Prior to joining Sanne in 2013, Simon worked at a global financial services organisation where he was responsible for their financial reporting division, servicing funds investing into real estate, private equity and capital market assets. Simon started his career in the Audit & Advisory business of Ernst & Young. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Andrew Horbury

Head of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, AML and Financial Crime Prevention Lecturer at BPP CI

Andrew Horbury is Head of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency at BPP Professional Education.

Andrew provides training & consulting to a variety of both financial and non-financial services firms on FinTech, with a core focus on Blockchain and Virtual Currency and the AML/CFT risks presented by them.

Andrew is the Founder of Blackfort Digital Currency Management, a specialist cryptocurrency and blockchain firm and is a Special Advisor on AML/CFT Risk Management for Blockchain Jersey.

Andrew has previously spent time in London, Jersey and Luxembourg working in Wealth and Investment Management for leading financial institutions such as UBS and Blackrock.

Educated at Victoria College in Jersey, Andrew obtained a diploma in law from the University of London and studied International Financial Services (BSc) at Jersey International Business School. Andrew holds an Advanced Certificate in Managing Virtual Currency Financial Crime Risks as well as a number of qualifications awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Simon Burgess

Head of Alternative Investments at Ocorian

Simon specialises in launching funds and investment structures. He has more than 30 years' experience working in the funds and real estate industry with a focus on both single and multi-jurisdictional investment platforms with an emphasis on real estate, infrastructure, debt and private equity assets. He maintains close working relationships with his clients and is often asked to join investment boards having gained many years' experience as a director of both fund and investment management companies in the UK, US, Channel Islands, Ireland, Luxembourg and the British Virgin Islands. Simon sits as a director on a number Ocorian's regulated boards including its AIFM platform. Simon has previously held senior management positions at State Street and Mourant, and previously he was a partner in a property advisory firm in the City of London.

Geoff Burnand

Chief Executive at Investing for Good

Geoff co - founded Investing for Good in 2004 after twenty years in institutional investment management. Under his direction IFG has consistently created and implemented innovative products and services that further the development of the impact investing sector including the first stock exchange-listed charity bonds, the first impact rating and portfolio assessment framework, and the first blended capital fund for the arts. IFG has received numerous awards including Charity Times Award for Social Investment, the Social Enterprise UK Award for Finance/Investment Deal and The British Legal Award for CSR Programme of the Year. Other roles include: Director, UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (2012-2018), Founder Member of the Guild of Investment Management and a Member of the UK National Advisory Board on Impact Investing.
