Andrew Horbury

Head of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, AML and Financial Crime Prevention Lecturer at BPP CI

Andrew Horbury is Head of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency at BPP Professional Education.

Andrew provides training & consulting to a variety of both financial and non-financial services firms on FinTech, with a core focus on Blockchain and Virtual Currency and the AML/CFT risks presented by them.

Andrew is the Founder of Blackfort Digital Currency Management, a specialist cryptocurrency and blockchain firm and is a Special Advisor on AML/CFT Risk Management for Blockchain Jersey.

Andrew has previously spent time in London, Jersey and Luxembourg working in Wealth and Investment Management for leading financial institutions such as UBS and Blackrock.

Educated at Victoria College in Jersey, Andrew obtained a diploma in law from the University of London and studied International Financial Services (BSc) at Jersey International Business School. Andrew holds an Advanced Certificate in Managing Virtual Currency Financial Crime Risks as well as a number of qualifications awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Chair of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands

Trustee of Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands since 2014, Katie became Chair in 2016. A volunteer adviser at Jersey's Citizen's Advice Bureau, Katie's previous voluntary positions have included: Volunteer tutor for the Jersey Probation Service, Trustee of the Jersey Shelter Trust, Governor and then Chair of Governors at both Highlands College of Further and Adult Education and Grainville Secondary School. A communications professional who established and managed the States of Jersey Communications Unit, overseeing all aspects of the unit's work including large-scale public consultations on strategic policy (Imagine Jersey) and tax (zero/10). 17 years previous experience in journalism, from newspapers and journals to broadcast, working as programme presenter, news editor and producer of network documentaries.

David Cartwright

Deputy Chairman of the Channel Islands Information Security Forum

Dave is head of cyber security at a Jersey-based financial services company, having previously worked as group security officer for a telco and as a cyber consultant. He is deputy chair of the Channel Islands Information Security Forum, former chair of the Jersey branch of the BCS, chair of the Jersey Charitable Skills Pool and a member of the Digital Business Committee of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce. Outside the IT and cyber world, he chairs the advisory committee for a Jersey-based charity providing events, activities and support for young people. Having grown up in Lincolnshire and Norfolk, Dave has lived in Jersey since 2009.

Senior Associate at Ogier

Katie specialises in non-contentious trust and fiduciary law and assists a wide range of professional trustees, family offices and private clients on all issues concerning trusts and foundations, including establishing, re-structuring and drafting trusts and foundations and other ancillary documents, as well as advising on structures including employee reward schemes and pensions. Katie's experience also includes the dissolution, reinstatement and migration of Jersey private companies.

Prior to joining Ogier in 2016, Katie spent over four years practising trust law as a solicitor at another local law firm. Katie is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
